“How much does a sesson cost?” Of course it is a fair question, and one I get asked all the time. However, if I may, I’d like to gently challenge this question. When it comes to hypnotherapy, the cost isn’t just about the hourly rate. It’s about value. It’s about change. And more than anything, it’s about you.
Hypnotherapy is an Investment, Not a Transaction
Let me just reframe the question for a moment. What’s the cost of not changing?
What’s the financial, emotional, mental, and even physical price of staying stuck with the same habit, fear, addiction, or behaviour that’s been holding you back? Perhaps you have reached rock bottom and need the change…
Okay, so let’s look at a financial example, if smoking is costing you (20 per day at £15) £450+ a month, a single year of not changing adds up to £5.4K not to mention the long-term health which is the real cost here. You could apply that to every addiction / habit… If stress or anxiety keeps you from progressing in your career, forming relationships, or simply enjoying your life, what’s that really costing you?
Now consider what it would be worth to finally gain freedom from those habits, beliefs, or limitations. That’s the true cost conversation we need to have.
You’re Not Paying for an Hour, you’re Paying for a Breakthrough
There’s a parable I love that explains this perfectly:
A giant cargo ship breaks down. Engineers, mechanics, and tech experts all try to fix it without success. Eventually, the owners call in an old man who’s been working with ships for decades. He walks around the engine, listens carefully, takes out a small hammer, and taps a single spot. The engine roars back to life. A few days later, the owners receive a bill for $5,000.
Outraged, they ask for an itemised breakdown.
The response:
-
Tapping with hammer: $2
-
Knowing where to tap: $4,998
It wasn’t the physical act of tapping that fixed the ship. It was the decades of expertise, the intuition, the understanding of systems, and the finely-tuned judgment of what was wrong and, where and how to apply pressure.
What Makes a Great Engineer (aka Hypnotherapist)?
Like the ship repairman, a skilled hypnotherapist doesn’t just deliver words in a session.. we bring:
-
Years of experience working with complex and varied issues
-
Professional qualifications grounded in behavioural change
-
A deep understanding of the subconscious mind and how to communicate with it
-
Proven tools and strategies that create real, lasting change
-
A tailored, individual approach which is not a one-size-fits-all script
Importantly, we know where and when to “tap.” I often say that the magic doesn’t always happen in the moment you expect. Sometimes, the transformation begins the minute you decide to seek help, and sometimes, it blooms fully weeks after the session is done yet it starts with choosing a therapist who knows how to guide that journey.
Let’s Continue the Story…
Imagine now if the ship repairman also:
-
Trained the crew so they never had the issue again
-
Reinforced the ship so future breakdowns were prevented
-
Optimised the system so it ran better than ever before
That’s what great hypnotherapy can do. It’s not just about “fixing” one problem. Hypnotherapy is about helping you regain control, build resilience, and unlocking more of your true potential.
So, Rather Than Ask Me “How Much Does It Cost?” …
Rather than asking me, “how much does a session cost?” I would like like to ask you:
-
What is it worth to feel confident again?
-
What is it worth to break free from a lifelong addiction?
-
What is it worth to step out of fear and into your full life?
Well, change is priceless and when you’re ready, I’m ready to help support you to making your change.
